Our mission is to guide people of all backgrounds into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Something for everyone at St Augustine

Anglican Church Women (ACW) This group within the church offers a social and ministry opportunity specifically for women in the parish. Meeting once a month for their regular gathering, (often including lunch, an education session or a guest speaker along with their regular business) these ladies plan and organize fundraisers within the parish and beyond. Open to all women in the parish, see the office volunteers for contact details.

The next meeting is scheduled for September 17, 2025, with monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of each month thereafter. There are no meetings planned for the summer months. All ladies in the church are welcome to join us. For more information, call Ann Archer at 519-944-8918.

Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen (BAC) Men of the Parish are called upon occasionally to do jobs that need doing: ladder work, cleanup days, set-ups for special occasions, kitchen duties or other property needs.

Altar Guild This dedicated group of volunteers helps to make our worship space a beautiful offering to God each week. Responsible for setting the altar as well as seasonal decorating, this talented team is always ready with new ideas and are always open to new members with even more ideas. Please contact the office to find out how to get involved with this ministry in the parish.

Welcome Team (Greeters) Do you feel like your smiling face is one that should be welcoming people into our building for on-site worship? Are you outgoing and a problem-solver who loves helping people find answers to questions as folks arrive at worship, either for the 100th time or for the 1st time? If you like getting to know people and are able to be friendly early in the morning, perhaps a greeter might be a great place for you to join our team. Connect with one of the Wardens and they will get you in touch with our Greeter Coordinator to get you onto the list of our shiny happy people on Sunday morning.

Parish Council Our parish council offers parish leadership in our business and operations needs from one Annual Vestry to the next. Keeping us on track with financial realities as well as making important decisions around property updates and maintenance, this group meets no more than once a month (usually on a Saturday morning) and often take other roles within the community. If you are a manager-type or are passionate about administration, this might be a great place for you to offer your gifts to God in time and talent. Speak with one of our Wardens to get more details about joining our Parish Council for the next fiscal year.

Technology Team In this changing world, technology and the ability for a church community to readily access online tools is essential for outreach and ministry have become a requirement rather than a bonus. With challenges such as website development, social media presence and on-site worship tools (sound, monitors, recordings, etc) a technology team has become a ministry that no one ever expected would be needed in a parish family. If you are a computer guru or are someone who would like to build on your existing technological experience, please get in touch with one of the Wardens who will get you onto the team that helps us get outside our doors and into the computer screens and smart phones of our members and visitors.

Other Groups In addition to all of the ministries mentioned above, we have so many more places where people can offer their gifts of ministry. Maybe you like counting our offering or helping chop ingredients for our turkey pies? Perhaps you like helping keep our building humming on the property committee or you are a social butterfly that would love to coordinate social events for the parish. People are always needed in many different places and we would love to hear where you feel called to be part of our church family. Maybe for you, now is the time to simply gather for prayer and praise on Sundays as you listen to God’s call on your life. Whatever your needs are or wherever your journey has you at the moment, St Augustine of Canterbury hopes to be a place where you can be yourself within a community of faithful believers. We can’t wait to “see you - be you” here in our community of faith.
